I don't want to spend 100USD for each LCD and cape/driver. I haven't found much resources on this, just some companies sell their solutions. It does not seem attractive to me when Im planning to make more of this devices in the future. I was planning to use 4D systems LCD screens, and they sell a cape for BBB, but they are too damn expensive.

Some companies have done this with a cape, but I'm not sure about Linux drivers and compatibility. The problem is beagle bone does not have a FFC connector for MIPI DSI, so I would have to use the LCD pins in the BBB headers.

I would use HDMI Cables for early stage development but finally I would make a PCB with HDMI routed rather than use connectors.Ģ) design or buy a LCD driver with MIPI DSI. So far I see two options:ġ) designing or buying an HDMI to MIPI DSI bridge and driver for a specific screen size and resolution, so I can use a cheap LCD + capacitive touchscreen. I definitely don't want to use an HDMI LCD touchscreen, placing a short HDMI cable restrains a lot of space. Im looking for a cost effective solution and size constraints. It also would work for me to test and debug any thread device that I design. I want to add to this device a graphical interface with capacitive touchscreen, so the user can commission devices, see the state of the network, control different smart appliances, among other features. For me: cost, power consumption (when required) and volume/size are my most critical factors. If you have any recommendations of a Linux dev board for this application, I'd appreciate it, specially if it's cheaper for the same performance. I'm planning to use a beaglebone black (BBB) over Rpi because it's open source, I have never designed a PCB Linux machine before, and beaglebone resources (such as schematics and design files) are more complete. Merkmale: 4.3 ¡¯ ¡¯ TFT LCD Display, 480 x 272 Auflösung 7 Push Buttons, INCLUDING Left, Right, UP, DOWN, Enter, Reset and Power 2 LED ¡¯ s, One To, Power and One For User, which Could Be CONFIGURED AS erforderlich Fully kompatibel mit Existing Treiber already Written for the Beagle Bone.I want to design a smart "gateway" device (since it's thread it wouldn't be a gateway by definition) that act as a border router for a thread network and uses WiFi or Ethernet for global connection/connect to cloud. Please Note That The 4dcape-43 is designed to be the Primary Display for Beagle Bone Black ONLY and nicht be Programmed using 4D Systems 'Workshop 4 IDE.
